Global School Partnerships: impact evaluation
The Global School Partnerships programme is funded by the Department for International Development (DFID) with the aim of motivating young people’s commitment to a fairer, more sustainable world. DFID supports school partnerships that promote global education through the curriculum. In September/October 2010 NFER conducted, for DFID, a 'snapshot' evaluation to assess the impact of the Global School Partnerships (GSP) programme on the learning and attitudes of pupils throughout the UK in relation to global issues.
Evaluation of City Challenge Leadership Strategies
The National College for Leadership of Schools and Children's Services commissioned NFER to carry out an independent evaluation of the City Challenge Leadership Strategies in the Black Country, Greater Manchester and London. The research looked at the Leadership Strategy provision in the three areas including how Teaching Schools, National and Local Leaders of Education (NLEs/LLEs) and School-to-School Partnerships support improvements in leadership and teaching in these regions.
Evaluation of SHINE on Saturdays
The SHINE Trust commissioned NFER to evaluate the impact of its SHINE on Saturdays programme in 2010. The programme involves schools or other educational organisations providing a SHINE on Saturday school aimed at underachieving children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The STEM cohesion programme: final report
NFER was commissioned by the then DCSF (now DfE) to evaluate the impact of the STEM Cohesion Programme on schools, colleges and stakeholders. This is the third and final report produced by the evaluation.
Key stage 3 science teacher views of teacher assessment using Assessing Pupils' Progress (APP)
The project aimed to find out how teachers perceive the future of APP and its possible impact on teaching and learning.

A survey carried out in June by NFER found that most pupils who were planning to attend university from September 2012 onwards, are re-considering their plans in light of the increase in tuition fees.
