The Eurydice network is the European Commission's information network on education in Europe and it is part of the EU's Lifelong Learning Programme. The network gathers, monitors, processes and circulates reliable and readily comparable information on education systems and policies throughout Europe.

It consists of 40 national units based in all 36 countries participating in the Lifelong Learning Programme (EU Members States, Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Montenegro, Serbia, Turkey, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) and is managed by the EU Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) in Brussels, which coordinates its comparative publications and databases. These include:

  • Eurypedia - The European Encyclopedia on National Education Systems, which includes detailed descriptions and overviews of national education systems
  • Comparative thematic studies devoted to specific topics of interest to the European Commission
  • Indicators and statistics (the Key Data Series)
  • Facts and figures related to education, such as the European glossary, school calendars and a thesaurus on education systems

For more information, see our Eurydice network publications page.

The Eurydice network website is available here.

Contact details and web addresses (where available) for each of the 40 national units within the Eurydice network are available here.
