Eurydice at NFER is the national Eurydice Unit for England, Wales and Northern Ireland and it is based within the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER). It is sponsored by the Department for Education (DfE), the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), the education department in Wales (DfES) and Northern Ireland (DE and DEL), and the European Commission under the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP). A separate unit for Scotland is based at the Scottish Government.
Eurydice at NFER contributes to Eurydice network publications, and helps to maintain the descriptions of national education systems and policies, including Eurypedia - The European Encyclopedia on National Education Systems. In addition, we produce a number of our own publications which can be accessed via the information by topic menu and an international current awareness bulletin, Education in the News. We also provide a targeted enquiry service for education policy makers.
