Monica is responsible for managing the production of EMIE reports, projects, coordinating input into the LGA's Children and Young People's Bulletin, as well as the publishing programme for EMIE at NFER, an information service for local authorities. She is currently the Lead Staff Development Coordinator for the Research, Evaluation and Information Department (REID) and line manages two EMIE team members. Previous roles at the NFER have included being the Staff Council representative for the REID information services and Acting Honorary Secretary on the Children's Services Research Group General Committee.

Prior experience and professional background

Following careers in both the arts and higher education, Monica worked at nferNelson, a publisher of tests and assessments for the education, health & social care and business markets, between 1992 and 2002. Her final role as Market Information and Planning Manager prepared her for subsequent freelance work before she joined the NFER in May 2003.

Monica had two articles published as part of the Study of Dance Conference 4 Report in 1986 whilst at the University of Surrey, jointly published the Directory of Dance Courses in Higher Education with Prof. J. Adshead, and contributed two articles to The International Dictionary of Ballet and Classical Dance.
