Taunton Teaching Alliance Inspiring Leadership presentation
Wednesday 9 November, 4 - 6pm, Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre, Taunton, Somerset, TA2 8PD
Senior Research Manager Shona MacLeod will present what recent research found about how more effective schools are supporting the attainment of pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Shona led an NFER team commissioned by the Department for Education to investigate the features and strategies of schools that successfully narrowed the performance gap between disadvantaged pupils (defined as those eligible to receive the Pupil Premium) and their peers. Their findings, including a brief for school leaders, can be found here:
Shona has over fourteen years’ experience in the project management and implementation of research and evaluation and has a specific interest in social exclusion and disadvantaged groups, including young people not in employment, education or training and those who offend or are at risk of offending.
