Research Director Caroline Sharp and Senior Research Manager Shona MacLeod were discussing their recent study for the Department for Education on how more effective schools have successfully raised the performance of disadvantaged students, including the role of the pupil premium. In particular, they will focus on the implications of the study’s results for school leadership drawing on the practice of school leaders in more successful schools. Senior Research Manager Dr Julie Nelson co-chaired a roundtable discussion with Professor Carol Campbell of the University of Toronto. They will be leading a discussion on the role of research evidence in informing schools’ approaches and the opportunities for collaboration between teachers and researchers.
