NFER at the 2018 ASCL Conference

NFER were pleased to attend and present at the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL) conference in Birmingham last weekend.
Education Secretary Damian Hinds delivered his first major speech since taking over the role in January, which was attended by chief executive Carole Willis.
Karen Wespieser, Head of Impact and Ian Bauckham, NFER Trustee and CEO of Tenax Schools Trust, presented ‘School improvement – capacity and opportunity’ at the two-day conference. Their session, on Saturday 10 March, shared NFER evidence of the capacity in the system as well as providing an update on developments in collaboration as a result of the new funding, and advising on how best to access these opportunities for your school.
The session was well-attended by delegates including the chief executive of the National Governance Association (NGA), Emma Knights, chief executive of the Samuel Ward Academy Trust, Tim Coulson and education journalist Freddie Whittaker.
