Using STEM research conference

Senior Research Manager Matt Walker co-presented with James Simpson, Assistant Headteacher at Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School about what it means to be a research-engaged school.

Matt talked about NFER’s range of products and services that support schools to engage with research and in enquiry, such as the NFER Research Mark and Self-Review Tool. James talked about his school’s experience of being awarded the Research Mark and the impact this has had on his school’s journey towards becoming more research-engaged. Matt is a member of NFER's Impact team, and he is passionate about making our research accessible and useful to practitioners. He has previously evaluated the effectiveness of the phonics screening check and flipped learning.
