Catherine has extensive experience managing and directing test development projects and other assessment research for clients, such as the Standards and Testing Agency (STA, previously QCA), Ofqual, Renaissance Learning and GL Assessment. Other research projects have included a survey exploring schools’ use of data in teaching and learning for the DfES (2005) and a longitudinal research study (2005-2010) evaluating the validity of an aptitude test for admission to higher education for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS).
Catherine is a Practitioner of the Association for Educational Assessment-Europe and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors. She is co-author of Progress Test in English (GL Assessment, 2015), Progress in English: Second Edition (GL Assessment, 2006), Maths Challenge KS1 (NFER Formative Assessment Service), Getting to Grips with Assessment: Primary (NFER, 2007) and Practical Guide to the 2014 National Curriculum, Volumes 1-3 (NFER, 2013).
