Dr. Daniele Bernardinelli is a Research Manager (Senior Statistician / Quantitative Analyst) at the Centre for Statistics and is working across a range of projects within the centre. Daniele joined NFER in September 2014. He is an experienced statistician and quantitative analyst, with a strong economics and econometrics background, and particular expertise in the design and implementation of policy evaluation projects and complex empirical analysis in the areas of education, welfare and labour market policy.
Prior to joining NFER, Daniele was a Statistical Officer at the Department for Education, where he worked on the areas of Academies and Free School policy and school funding, and was involved in a variety of high profile pieces of analysis.
Daniele has a Master and PhD in Economics from the University of Essex. He has an extensive knowledge of statistical and econometric models (with a particular interest for discrete choice models, duration models, panel data models and quantile regression models) and STATA programming. Daniele is familiar with the development and implementation of cost-benefit analysis and has a thorough understanding of policy evaluation methods, identification strategies and sample design.
