David has extensive experience of undertaking research into youth transitions, 14-19 education, further education, work-related learning and social inclusion. He is an executive member of the Forum for Access and Continuing Education (FACE) and a member of the London Region Post-14 Network and the Learning and Skills Research Network.
David has designed and directed programme evaluations for a wide range of clients including the Department for Education, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, the Local Government Association and the CfBT Education Trust. He has directed numerous projects including research on post-16 work experience provision, 14-19 Diplomas, the effectiveness of the 16-19 education and training commissioning process, provision to re-engage young people not in education, employment or training, and the role of partnerships in school improvement.
David gave evidence to the Parliamentary Education Select Committee Inquiry into School Partnerships and Cooperation and to the Inquiry on Apprenticeships and Traineeships for 16 to 19 year-olds.
