Emily has led research for a variety of clients, including the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF), the Local Government Association (LGA), and the Sutton Trust. As well as leading national evaluations, Emily delivers smaller scale research, development and consultancy support. At NFER, Emily leads the Local Authorities Research Consortium (LARC). This year, LARC is working with local authorities to explore sustainable solutions to tackling child neglect. Emily is leading two evaluations into the effectiveness of small group tuition, and exploring the impact of bursary support to provide disadvantaged young people with fully funded places at boarding school.

With fourteen years of research experience, Emily is skilled in all phases of research and has been central to developing methodology at NFER. Offering high-level quantitative skills as well as broad experience of qualitative research methods, she is an accomplished mixed methods researcher. Emily enjoys supporting others to develop their research capacity. She delivers training on research methods and has authored tools to help others to conduct their own research.
