Heather joined the NFER in April 2014 and is currently working as a researcher on the Early Years Baseline Assessment project and is involved with interviewing stakeholders about the Year One Phonics Screening Check.

Prior to joining the NFER, Heather worked as an EYFS practitioner and Key Stage One class teacher. Alongside this, she worked as school SENCo and completed a Masters in Teaching and Learning. Recently, she has been working as a consultant with the University of Manchester developing their PGCE programme.

In addition to her teaching and SENCo qualifications, Heather has a MusB and MusM in Music from the University of Manchester.
