Sally has worked in the Centre for Statistics since 2006 carrying out analyses for a range of projects and providing statistical advice to other Centres. She has worked on projects to evaluate initiatives in school such as the Realising Opportunities programme, to review the teaching of foreign languages and a project for the GTC to assess the views of teachers on teaching practice and policy. Sally is currently working on the NFER School Surveys, a service which helps schools and local authorities to evaluate staff engagement and the wellbeing of children and young people within schools. It also provides data for the self-evaluation process based on pupil, parent and staff views. She is also a member of the NFER Education Trials Unit and has been involved in the analysis of trials for the Education Endowment Foundation.

Previously Sally has worked as a statistician for Tesco Stores Ltd conducting location research and analysing customer surveys. She has also worked for Syngenta (ICI Agrochemicals), designing and analysing experiments and more recently she was based at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School working as a statistician on the National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles.
