Tami is based in the Centre for Evaluation and Consultancy at NFER where she leads qualitative and quantitative research projects and literature reviews for government departments and educational agencies at local and national levels. Previously a lecturer, course leader and pastoral tutor in a further education college, her particular interests include 14 to 19 education; vocational education; careers education and guidance; young people not in education, employment or training (NEET); the transition from education to employment and college and school improvement.

Until recently, Tami was seconded to NFER’s Impact Team as a Research Director with a remit to grow NFER’s education to employment programme of research projects and evidence. She has particular interest in informing education policy with evidence, converting research findings into useful resources for teachers and lecturers and is keen to further develop understanding and capacity for research in FE colleges and schools. Tami is an executive member of the Forum for Access and Continuing Education (FACE) and a member of the planning group for the Learning and Skills Research Network (LSRN).
