Over the past few years there has been growing concerns over boys' relatively low levels of achievement in comparison with girls. In response, NFER is carrying out a project, as part of the Local Government Association research programme, to investigate the issue of gender differences in achievement. This report presents to findings from Phase 1 of that investigation.
