School funding - summary of evidence

School funding has been central to the education election debate. Details of future funding plans were outlined in each of the three main parties’ manifestos, recent TV debates have seen politicians questioned on how they will ensure schools are adequately funded, and research institutions have been putting out their own figures on how much proposed changes will cost and what they may mean in terms of per pupil funding.

This note provides a summary of this information using evidence from reputable organisations to highlight the key pledges from the manifestos and ask if the evidence available supports their claims.
