Admission to upper secondary education
In March 2010, the Eurydice National Unit for the Czech Republic placed an enquiry to the Eurydice information network on education in Europe on admission to (upper) secondary school. The following questions were asked:
- Can a young person apply and be offered a place at more than one upper secondary school and choose which place to accept?
- Is there a limit on the number of applications and how is the application system organised?
- If good results in lower secondary education or a final certificate of lower secondary education are requirements for admission to upper secondary schools, what provision is there for young people who are unsuccessful (e.g. special schools, classes, part-time education...)?
The briefing summarises the responses received from 15 Eurydice network countries.
Information was collected in Spring 2010.
