Sheffield Hallam University hosted its first Festival of Education for education professionals working from 0-19 in June. The event engaged in meaningful debate about the exciting, challenging and impactful things happening in education for the good of all young people in South Yorkshire, and the talented and inspiring people who teach and work with them.
NFER researchers spoke on two panels on Day 1 of the festival, Friday 14 June. From 14:15 until 15:05, Senior Research Manager Dr Julie Nelson contributed to the panel discussion 'What has being evidence-informed ever done for schools and other education settings?'. She was joined by Brownwen Maxwell (Sheffield Institute of Education), Jane Elsworth (Huntingdon Research School), Alex Quigley (Education Endowment Foundation) and Philippa Cordingly (CUREE).
Straight after from 15:20 to 16:10, Research Manager Matt Walker was on the panel discussion ‘Developing school-based research’. Also joining the panel were Cat Scutt (Chartered College of Teachers), Kike Agunbiade (Brilliant Club - Researchers in Schools programme) and Owen Carter (ImpactEd).
