Implementing the new curriculum in Wales, measuring pupil progress and reforming 14-16 qualifications

This seminar will examine the key issues surrounding the design and implementation of the new school curriculum. Jane Nicholas, Senior Research Manager, NFER Cymru will discuss implementing new assessment measures to monitor pupil progress throughout school. The session will take place at 10:55, also on the panel will be Jane Alexander, Chief Executive Officer at Early Years Wales and Professor Eithne Hughes, Director at ASCL Cymru.

This seminar will be an opportunity to discuss key issues emerging from the Welsh Government’s consultation on the draft curriculum, and those attending will consider new curriculum and assessment arrangements, due to be finalised in January 2020. The conference will also be an opportunity to examine the implications of curriculum reform for 14-16 qualifications.
