NFER School Workforce Lead Jack Worth will be taking part in this Westminster Education Forum on why ‘Improving the working conditions of teachers is essential for tackling the recruitment and retention challenge faced by schools in England’.
Jack will be talking about his recent research on teacher recruitment, retention and working conditions, drawing on NFER’s Teacher Labour Market Annual Report. The research has highlighted the substantial and growing challenge of ensuring there are sufficient numbers of teachers and the crucial role played by teacher job satisfaction, workload and work-related stress.
The conference will also focus on how Government, schools, universities and other stakeholders can work together to alleviate some of the key stress points that have led to reductions in the recruitment and retention of teachers.
