This report presents the findings from the first phase of an NFER study into the full-time provision for pupils who are excluded from school for 15 days or more. This phase comprised an initial audit of provision (as at September 2002) and the findings are based on pro forma returns, completed by LEA officers with responsibility for this area, from a sample of 60 LEAs.
