Keeping staff well informed

Why disseminate?

Research suggests that Local Authorities do not always have a clear dissemination plan, with a clear system for overseeing what is disseminated to whom. Front-line staff are especially likely not to receive information relating to the development and delivery of their service (Percy-Smith et al., 2002). If research is to have an impact in Local Authorities, the Local Authority role in disseminating or sharing it is crucial. Local Authority staff may need to take time to consider how best to disseminate and to share good practice with all staff and services.
