Working with schools

NFER works closely with schools as partners in our wide range of research, evaluation and test trialling projects

Our ongoing relationship with schools across the country helps us gather sufficient evidence to ensure that our research is based on robust findings, truly influenced by teachers, pupils and others involved in school life.

Participation in our research and evaluation work helps teachers make their professional input into the ongoing development of policy and practice in education. Pupil participation in test trials helps NFER to develop good quality tests that helps schools to understand pupils' performance.

We are committed to making it as easy as possible for schools to take part in NFER projects with us, and we always try to give something back to schools, whether it is individualised feedback from a survey, test results or a summary of findings.

The NFER School Portal enables secure two-way transfer of information with schools that are involved in our work. Schools log in to the secure server using a unique password and upload data in a few easy steps, in a format that is convenient for the school. They can also download results or feedback for NFER projects in which they have participated.
