News Release

Friday 22 March 2019

At NFER, making a positive impact on children’s and young people’s experience of education, their outcomes and on teaching and learning is at the heart of everything we do.

Every year we publish an Impact Review, which highlights the ways in which our activities have contributed to understanding and improving education.

With plenty of changes and new developments, 2018 was an exciting year for NFER. The launch of our new branding and website signalled a fresh approach for the Foundation, alongside aligning all our research activity around the following eight key education challenges, with the objective of further increasing the impact of what we do:

  • Accountability
  • Assessment
  • Classroom Practice
  • Education to Employment
  • Social Mobility
  • School Funding
  • School Workforce
  • Systems and Structures

We also unveiled one of our exciting new sub brands – NFER Classroom, a central point for information, resources and practical support from NFER that is directly relevant to those working in and for schools.

For further highlights of the year and to find out more about the scale and impact of our work, download our latest Impact Review here.

Over the next few weeks, we will also be sending hard copies of the review through the post to our key stakeholders.
