In the Summer Term 2004, the third survey of higher education providers in England was conducted. The aim of the survey was to gather information about the relevant activities that had been undertaken by higher education providers as part of their widening participation initiatives. The survey builds upon the two earlier surveys and also takes account of the increased breadth of the new unified Aimhigher programme which serves both young people and adults from groups under-represented in higher education across the country.
