NFER 2019/20 impact Review

News Release

Friday 14 February 2020

At NFER, we exist to improve outcomes for future generations everywhere and to support positive change in education. Each year we publish an impact review, which highlights how our new insights, research and assessments contribute towards this mission.

It was a busy year and an exciting time of growth for NFER. We delivered over 150 projects both for clients and in our own right to provide evidence based research on topical education issues. In 2019, our focus was on four of our eight key topics:

  • Accountability
  • Assessment
  • Classroom Practice
  • Education to Employment

In this impact review, we share the latest updates of our international projects, and you can learn how NFER Classroom is going from strength to strength. We cannot achieve this without our network of key partners, some of whom are featured in this year’s review. The future of T Levels, benefits and barriers to part-time and flexible working, and the role of accountability in the UK demonstrate how NFER’s research applies to real life issues.

We actively use the breadth and depth of our expertise to inform and influence policymakers and educators on the issues and potential solutions – always with the goal of improving education, not just in the UK, but worldwide.

Over the next few weeks, we will be sending hard copies of the review to key stakeholders.
