Commenting on today’s T Level results, NFER Research Director, Suzanne Straw, said:

“NFER congratulates the third cohort of T Level students on their results. The results reflect the continued hard work of providers delivering these challenging programmes, as well as the students undertaking them.

“The pass rate remains high at nearly 90 per cent, although there are variations by subject, with a pass rate of just under 70 per cent for the newer Design and Development for Engineering and Manufacturing T Level. It is also positive to see the vast majority of students continuing to complete the 45-day industrial placement, as the number of T Level students rise and finding placements becomes more challenging.

“Although the drop out rate is lower than that of the previous cohort, it remains high at 29 per cent. Further investigation is needed to establish what actions are required to address this. It will also be important to continue to track the study and employment outcomes of T Level students, as well as their experiences and satisfaction rates, as part of the Technical Education Learner Surveys.”
