Next steps for SEND provision in England

The Westminster Education Forum is holding a conference to discuss the next steps for special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) provision in England. This event will bring together stakeholders and policymakers to discuss priorities for the new Parliament.

At 11.15am, NFER’s Research Managers, Matt Walker and Lillian Flemons, will be giving a keynote address on improving SEND support in multi-academy trusts. They will be drawing on research from NFER’s recent report ‘The MAT Factor’, which found that MATs and schools are facing significant challenges around SEND provision, including recruiting and retaining SEND staff, high SENCO workloads and navigating relationships with parents and local authorities.
