Evidence and Evaluation Conference

Thursday 22 April 2021

10:00 - 13:00

Online

This is the first annual evidence and evaluation conference by Transforming Access and Student Outcomes (TASO) in Higher Education, which will bring together representatives from the higher education sector to learn more about robust evidence and best-practice evaluation for widening participation and student success. TASO will launch new evidence and host a range of high-profile speakers to help the sector understand the importance of evidence-informed policy and practice.

On 22 April at 10:45am, NFER’s Head of Education Trials Unit, Dr Ben Styles, will be presenting on Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs) in Education discussing how techniques employed in education RCTs can help us to evaluate interventions which address inequality both pre-entry to higher education and post-entry. Ben will suggest potentially transferable ideas from his experience of running trials in schools.
