Held every two years, the UKFIET conference is one of the largest forums for discussion related to International Education and Development. The 2021 conference will feature six themes, including governance, power and planning, under and overarching theme of Building Back Better in Education and Training: Reimagining, Reorienting and Redistributing.

On Thursday September 16 at 2:15pm BST, Francesca Horn, Education and Partnerships Lead for Promoting Equity in African Schools (PEAS), and other pannelists, will be a part of the session School accountability in Africa: bringing together research, policy and practitioner perspectives. During this panel, Francesca will summarise the pilot PEAS Inspect & Improve project, a school inspections and improvement programme which aimed to improve the quality of leadership and management in 10 government schools in Eastern Uganda which were identified as requiring support. She will also highlight the findings of a recently published NFER International evaluation.
